I don’t know if you attempted to check out my Book Publishing Empowerment Call with Kenyetta Hall last Thursday night but if you did, you are already aware that we experienced a whole lot of technical issues.
Currently, to my knowledge, unlike other broadcasting platforms we have used in the past, there is no way to test the “guest” feature outside of going Live on Facebook. Consequently, there we were LIVE and fumbling through all types of issues.
Despite our many challenges, we persevered and in the end, the interview and our time of sharing was a tremendous success. This is what I want to share with you about that situation:
Several times during the course of events Thursday night, I started to just quit and forget all about continuing with the broadcast…
1. When I had issues with the Invite feature, I felt like quitting.
2. When my interviewer could not hear me, I started to quit.
3. When the broadcast kept freezing, I started to quit.
4. When we totally froze and neither of us could no longer be heard, I thought, “What’s the use, just end this thing!”
I was so frustrated to the point I thought “I want to quit!”
“It’s too much!”
You see, I’ve had this battle in the past before.

“Being an entrepreneur is not only risky, tiresome and lonely at times, but it requires too much effort!” I would reason.
Sure, there are a whole lot of great benefits but sometimes it seems it’s just not worth ALL THE EFFORT.
Thursday night when I was almost at the point of exploding during the LIVE broadcast and at the very least mustering up a phony smile and bidding everyone a “Maybe next time good night,” I decided instead to just give it one more try.
It just so happened that my interviewee lived right around the corner from me. Therefore, I invited her over to try the LIVE broadcast one more time. This way, we did not have to worry about remotely bringing her on the broadcast. And this time, with both of us in the same room as opposed to trying to connect her remotely via Facebook, the broadcast worked with no glitches.
Praise Jesus!
Now, I want you to take note that I am not a tech savvy person, so words cannot even express how much stress this situation created for me.
Here’s the lesson in all of this…
I have discovered that too many of us quit way before we have exhausted all the options. I know a lot of people who start off with wonderful dreams and goals but never seem to achieve them. #truestory
I know a lot of believers who proclaim the wonderful “God idea” they believe they have received but never seem to bring it into fruition.
I have witnessed time and time again, talented, knowledgeable, capable and even anointed people fall short of their goals simply because they quit too early.
Here are some of the excuses I have heard:
1. “God is leading me in a different direction.” (As in… God changed His mind because it required too much effort from me.)
2. “The devil or (insert other enemy force here) interfered with my progress.”
3. “He, she or they are the reasons I was not able to achieve success with (insert goal here).”
But do you know what I have found?
I have found that these are all just common excuses that people use to QUIT but the real reason lies within themselves. They were not willing to persevere.
The bible reminds us not to be weary when we are sowing good seeds because we will reap a harvest if we don’t faint. (Galatians 6:9)
The end result of Thursday evening’s interview was that so many people were blessed. The synergy among Kenyetta and I could be felt throughout the broadcast. I had tremendous feedback afterwards and we’re still reaping great results because WE DID NOT QUIT.
Please understand that the harvest does not always show up with good results so early but if you stick with whatever it is you are supposed to be doing, as sure as the seasons change in life, your season of reaping will come around.
I can’t stress this enough — whether it is starting a business or ministry, publishing a book, or going after your God-given dreams, if you know that you have been called to do it, when times get hard and the opposition seems insurmountable, just take a deep breath and whatever you do, don’t give in to the desire to just quit.
Blessings in abundance,
~Pastor Kish
