Purpose is “the objective toward which one strives or aims”…Eternity with Him. An assignment is “the transfer of a claim, right, interest, or property from one to another”…from Jesus to us. Do you know what your true godly purpose or assignment is?

Romans 9:17 (KJV) and Acts 1:8 (KJV) tell us that God can and will use anyone to accomplish His purpose and that after we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to do what Jesus did. The true godly purpose for our lives is to participate in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20 KJV) Our assignments come in the form of gifts, talents, visions, ideas, dreams, and desires. God continues giving us the tools, resources, and instruction from the Holy Spirit that we need in order to complete our part. Glory to God!
As we embark upon a new year and decade, I want you to ask yourself the following questions:
-
- Does your purpose include allowing God to show His power through you and give witness and declaration to those you come in contact with?
- Does your labor produce fruit and satisfaction?
- Are you in full acknowledgment and consciousness of the power of God that dwells in you?
- Are you willing to demonstrate it?
- Is your pursuit in line with God’s desired purpose?
My prayer for your New Year is that you will be mindful and diligent in the pursuit of your purpose and calling. May you also be excited, focused, prepared, and absolutely overjoyed in your endeavor, supplied with an overflowing anointing and abundant resources. May God continue to bless you and keep you in 2020, and may this be your year for perfect vision!
“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things which I will appear unto thee.” Acts 26:16 (KJV)
In His Service, Darlene E. Richard Evangelist and Kingdom Teacher
Darlene Richard has been a minister since 1996. She has taught Bible study for over twenty-seven years and has been active in the Church since the age of six. Darlene has an inept ability given to her by God to teach the gospel, and she is gifted with a voice to sing His praises. She believes that the Scriptures are not just information or stories given for the purposes of just storytelling, but that they are a source of life to those that receive them as such.
