As I pondered the title of this writing, “Lord, Make Us One,” what I saw was a group of people, making a request to someone that they believed was capable of fulfilling their request. Because I enjoy looking up words, I decided to define each word to get an idea of what this request is all about…
Part I: Bring Me into Focus, Cause Me to Remember
“As America Shuts Down and Mandates Citizens’ Shut-In, Global Idols of Entertainment Collapse.” As the entrance into our second decade of the 21st century passes, this would have been my response for a descriptive newsprint headline. Shortly after a dramatic pause, I would somehow find the need to share how meditating on all of the sixteen verses of Psalm 91 (MSG) became my spiritual anchor.
The Power of Unity
Most of us have heard the phrase, “Where there is unity, there is strength.” The same is true in the Kingdom of God. The Scriptures tell us that as believers, we are called into one body—the Body of Christ Jesus. We are to strive for unity among ourselves in all things. Unity is “the state of being one or single-minded.”
