“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not!” Matthew 7:7-10
In the words of Christ, our King, Matthew 7:7-10 is another way to think about pursuing your specific purpose in life. Go ahead and take the next steps with an expectation to be answered.

When solutions are cultivated through biblical truths, they go beyond being a simple “yes” or “no” response. On the contrary, when your Father in heaven releases a response, every detail encourages you to keep digging. How comforting it is to see and read the intentions of our Father along with His Holy Spirit towards you! So as opposed to making unrealistic resolutions for the upcoming decade, write a statement of resolve and release for the seasons of your life.
According to 3 John 1:2 (NLTV), “Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit.” Knowing that a dear friend desires that you continue to prosper may be the focus you require in order to overcome the challenges. Diving deeper into biblical teachings for better insight and perspective will allow you to mentally wrap your thoughts around restoring your life through the washing of the Word by the Holy Spirit. Memorizing Scriptures and recalling them as a strengthening exercise enable you to block out toxic thinking. At the same time, seeking, knocking, and asking for a situation to be resolved and people to be released are gifts presented by our Heavenly Father.
Okay, allow me to go even further so that you can understand the vision that is impressed upon your heart, as you engage in the actions of knocking, seeking, and asking. They are postures that place the situation in a position to be answered. If there are gray areas or mental fogs in your life, the Scriptures encourage us to keep moving in a direction of expecting a resolve and/or release. In other words, your Father is not going to leave you hanging in a constant state of limbo. He’s going to address the issues, heal the sickness, and restore what the locust and the cankerworms sought to destroy.
For the past decade, I’ve made it my mission to make sure my home and office were clean before the New Year began. I didn’t want to enter the new year with a messy space. For 2020, I decided on something much different. I wanted to clean up and clear out more than a few decades of unresolved, bad, or potentially destructive decisions for my future. I needed to see the situations and circumstances within my life as dead in Christ. What would transition in or remain would reflect the resurrected Christ in me. I resolved that certain people needed to be shown and escorted to the exit door of my life. Certain places I visited, although required a leap of faith, were good for my mental and physical restoration. And now, instead of rehashing old, stale resolutions of the past, I look forward to the things that are awaiting my arrival and declaration.
Yes, it still remains true in 1 Corinthians 2:9, “but as it is written, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” Don’t despair if you make mistakes. You will arrive at an expected end.

I appreciate this truly uplifting post, Lady Nicole. The line, “Don’t despair if you make mistakes. You will arrive at an expected end.” is very empowering in facing 2020 with so much positivity and faith in the Lord.

Thank you Lady Nicole for this lovely post! I also resolved to escort some people to the exit door. Not because they are bad people but rather, their season in my life ended…. Tough decisions but we have to make them for the sake of God’s will for our lives. Blessings!
Oh hallelujah!!! I pray you’re continuing to rest in your decisions as well.
