Book Publishing & Soul Development

This is the second article in my Claiming the Promise series. Last week, in the first article, I talked about facing up to the giants that are standing between you and that book you want to write, or between you and publishing that book, or between you and launching that book. Today, I’m going to ask you: How bad do you want it?

You Have To Want It As Badly as Jesus Wants You To Have It

If you really want Jesus, if you really want all of what He’s made available for you, He wants you to want it as much as He wants to give it to you. He wants you to love Him like He loves you, or at least try to love Him that much because I don’t know if it’s possible to love Him as much as He loves us. That’s probably not possible but can we at least try? Because just like you were in that relationship and you felt underappreciated, and under-loved, it’s not a good feeling. Just like we want people to love us as much as we love them or more, please understand… It’s the same thing with God. It’s a spiritual principle that we see here in operation.

We gotta want it so bad. We gotta want all of what Jesus has made available to us so bad.

The passive people, the nonchalant people, the people who lack aggression, the people who lack assertiveness, the people who are apathetic, the people who are just blasé about certain things as it pertains to the Kingdom will never be able to access the domains and the realms where God has other blessings and promotion stored.

Have you ever been in a relationship, whether it was a friendship or a marital relationship or a business relationship where the people did not appreciate you as much as you appreciated them? Can we be real today?

Or what about this: Have you ever been in a relationship with a boyfriend, a girlfriend, a husband, a wife and it seems as if you love them more than they love you? It doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t feel good when you’re not loved, the way you want to be loved.

“For whoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that he has.” – Matthew 13:12

This verse means that when you have a desire for something, you’re going to be able to get more of it. But if you’re complacent or you’re apathetic about that thing, it’s going to evade you.

As the people of God, what we have to understand is that even though our promise is available for us, we’ve got to really desire it.

What we fail to understand in the body of Christ oftentimes is that this Jesus whom we preach about, who loves us so, who died for us, and who cares for us so, wants us to love Him like He loves us. He wants us to want Him. He wants us to desire Him.

Be Willing To Fight For It

So, how bad do you want it? How bad do you want that total salvation package that’s available to you and available for you?

Do you want it bad enough to fight for it? In the last blog post, “Have Some Giants For Dinner”, we talked about the spirit of the warrior and the spirit of the worshipper that are the keys to accessing the Kingdom promises. You’re going to have to be willing to contend for it and to trust in God that He will deliver the victory to you. The way that we fight our fights is with the Word of God. The battle that you’re going to deal with is a fixed fight. It’s a mindset. And the mindset we need is the mindset of the worshipping warrior.

Are you ready to fight for it?

Join me next week as I finish up this series with an article about “What Makes People Great”.

  1. This is definitely a good blog post and so very true! We have to wholeheartedly desire what the Lord has given us access to and go after it that we may obtain it in all of its fullness like He has intended for us! Thanks Pastor K!
