Everyone wants that one opportunity for new beginnings and new things; but when the new comes, will we be ready to maintain it?
Anytime our shoes are worn out, we know that it is time to let go of the old worn-out pair of shoes and get a new pair. When our shoes are worn out, our feet will not receive the proper support that they need to be able to function the way they were meant to. We keep walking in the old shoes, trying to get to our destination—but those shoes have taken us as far as they can. In the same way, staying in a season of our lives longer than we should can hinder our purpose on earth. We can never go the distance if we stay stuck in the past.

Apostle Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The only way all things will become new is by having a changed mind. An old mindset will keep us in bondage to the past. Don’t become comfortable in the old place. We can’t allow our past to keep us subject to it. Yes, the unknown can be scary; but in order to move forward, there has to be change.
At the beginning of every year, people make resolutions that they cannot keep. The reason why they can’t keep them is because they are trying to do a new thing with an old mindset. We will never be able to keep a New Years’ resolution with the previous year’s mindset. It will never work.
Pray for the anointing to let go. If we are in Christ Jesus, we should be seeing all things in a new way. We should have a new perspective on situations which once held us in bondage. We should not look at that situation as a limitation, but as fuel for our purpose.
It is time for us to change our garments. We cannot walk into our promised land with old garments. Even Joseph had to change his prison garments before he was brought before the Pharaoh to walk in his new season of his life. (Genesis 41:14) Have faith to believe that by this time tomorrow, your famine will be over; that chapter in your life is finished. All things are becoming NEW!
